These works were created
predominantly in the seventies and eighties.
Virtually all big pharmaceutical corporations gave me the opportunity
to create histological landscapes and spaces, in an artisitic yet anatomically
correct way. Bacteria became space ships travelling between cells, the
body's feeding cells became hungry monsters with no other purpose than
to eliminate foreign substances from the tissue. Indeed another world
of phantasty which inspired me a lot. On the other hand, these commissioned
works gave me the opportunity to foster my regular art while having a
good income stream.
By the end of the eighties I had to make up my mind to quit the commissioned
work for the pharmaceutical industry because my regular artistic work
started to become an ongoing success. Today these so called medical scientific
paintings are created as free works of art for medical doctors and physicians
intersted in arts.
